A global food distributor is looking for a Transportation Director to lead a high-performing team, champion safety, and deliver best-in-class service to our customers. You’ll oversee daily transportation operations, inspire and develop your drivers, and ensure every delivery is on time, safe, and cost-effective. If you’re a leader who thrives in fast-paced distribution environments and can turn operational challenges into wins, we want you behind the wheel of our transportation strategy.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead and inspire a diverse transportation team, fostering a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement.

  • Champion safety-first operations, ensuring compliance with DOT, OSHA, and company policies while driving proactive accident prevention measures.

  • Build and develop talent by hiring, training, and coaching drivers and staff to consistently exceed service, safety, and performance goals.

  • Troubleshoot and optimize delivery operations, reducing waste, streamlining processes, and improving on-time performance.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with warehouse, sales, and customer service teams to align transportation priorities with overall business goals.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Proven track record with 3+ years in transportation, delivery, or warehouse distribution, and at least 1+ years in people leadership (union preferred).

  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with a history of motivating teams and influencing positive operational change.

  • In-depth knowledge of DOT regulations, transportation methods, safety protocols, and operational best practices.

  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret financial and operational data to improve efficiency and reduce costs.

  • Tech proficiency, including Microsoft Office and transportation planning tools, with a willingness to adopt new systems quickly.
