Overview:
Our client, a leading food manufacturing company known for its innovation and growth, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join their finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a manufacturing accounting professional to step into a key role supporting financial reporting, cost analysis, and month-end close within a fast-paced production environment.

As a trusted staffing partner, we are working directly with senior leadership to identify a strong candidate who can add value from day one and help drive financial accuracy and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.

  • Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements.

  • Analyze production costs, variances, and inventory valuations to support plant operations.

  • Partner with operations and supply chain teams to support forecasting, budgeting, and cost analysis.

  • Assist with standard costing updates and bill of materials (BOM) reviews.

  • Support external audit preparation and ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting standards.

  • Provide mentorship to junior accounting staff and participate in cross-functional projects.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA or CMA preferred.

  • 4+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a manufacturing or food production environment.

  • Strong understanding of standard costing, inventory accounting, and cost of goods sold (COGS).

  • Proficient in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and advanced Excel skills.

  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
