Our client is seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to ensure accurate, timely and compliant payroll processing for their multi-state workforce. This individual will partner closely internal teams and oversee the configuration and administration of the Workday HRIS payroll module.
Payroll Manager Responsibilities:
- Manage the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring accurate and timely payment across US and Canada while adhering to local laws. This involves implementing policies and processing transaction while managing the daily workflow of the department.
- High focus on process development and improvement and creation of documentation to support workflow and responsibilities, focusing on efficiency and employee experience.
- Partners with our third-party payroll processer on data requirements and will own validation/audit processes.
- Oversee and maintain the administration, configuration, and maintenance of the Workday HRIS payroll module.
- Lead the payroll team, foster collaboration with other departments, and serve as a key point of contact for payroll inquiries and escalations. Primary liaison between Finance, Tax and HR Partner teams on payroll items.
- Ensure compliance and best practices to federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations, prepare required reports and filings, and conduct internal audits. Staying current on regulatory changes is also crucial.
- 6+ years relevant experience working within Payroll, with 2+ years being in a leadership role preferred
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification preferred
- Extensive experience within Workday
- Ability to gather and analyze information, take appropriate action and prioritize tasks
- Extensive knowledge of the payroll function including preparation, balancing, internal control, audit, and payroll taxes.
