As the lead engineer, you’ll work at the intersection of strategy and execution—shaping security standards, ensuring regulatory compliance, and guiding complex initiatives that protect enterprise operations. You’ll also play a critical role in advancing cybersecurity maturity across the organization.
Lead Engineer – Cyber Security III Responsibilities:
- Lead design, implementation, and monitoring of security controls across networks, applications, and operating systems
- Ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks such as NIST 800-171, CMMC, ISO 27001, SOC2, PCI, HIPAA, FAR, and DFARS
- Draft, refine, and enforce security policies, procedures, and standards
- Conduct IT audits and testing to validate control effectiveness and adherence
- Translate complex regulatory and contractual requirements into actionable technical configurations
- Collaborate cross-functionally to assess risks, resolve security issues, and drive initiatives forward
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and team members
Lead Engineer – Cyber Security III Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field
- Six or more years of experience in cybersecurity, including direct involvement with regulatory or framework compliance
- Strong knowledge of security controls across multiple domains (infrastructure, cloud, or application development)
- Demonstrated ability to solve complex, cross-functional technical problems
- Exceptional communication skills, with experience presenting to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Active or eligible to obtain U.S. Government Secret clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
- Graduate degree in Cybersecurity, Information Systems, or Management
- Certifications such as CISSP, CEH, GIAC, Security+, or SSAP
- Experience leading IT audits, testing cybersecurity controls, and driving remediation initiatives
- Strong track record in cross-functional collaboration and organizational influence
