Controller Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the integrity of the company’s financial statements; produce timely, accurate financial statements and other financial reports; direct appropriate controls within the company for inventory accounting and processes, accurate cutoffs, timely account reconciliation.
- Support business decision making with financial perspective and analysis; acquisition analysis, due diligence and integration; financial impact analysis of significant business events; operating cost management; gross margin management.
- Responsible for the cash management and banking relationships.
- Oversight of processes and internal controls to ensure proper accounting and minimization of DSO’s, bad debt, and aging.
- Ensure proper controls over book, physical, and perpetual inventories. Coordinate the provision of information to external auditors for annual audits; comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
- Direct responsibility for all financial statements, including year-end audit work papers.
- Acts in advisory and consultative capacity by providing financial and system/process improvement recommendations to management team members.
Controller Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or other appropriate discipline
- An MBA or CPA highly preferred
- 10+ years experience in accounting and financial management with progressive management experience in a multi-unit operation
- Experience within a distribution or manufacturing environment REQUIRED
- Ability to enhance complex, automated/computerized business ERP Systems
- Must be a hands-on leader with strong relationship and people skills
- Must be accustomed to working in an environment with consistent change
- Must be open to being in a fully in-office role in Vernon Hills
