Pay: $30/hr+ based on experience
Position Overview: The Sourcing Buyer II will be responsible for driving sourcing strategies for raw materials used in manufacturing operations. This role emphasizes project management, critical thinking, and supplier relationship management. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, able to think independently, and will contribute to identifying solutions for sourcing and supplier performance improvements while working closely with internal customers and external suppliers.
This position requires a focus on category reviews, data analysis, and creating forward-thinking strategies to meet company objectives. The Sourcing Buyer II will work closely with production teams, suppliers, and other departments to ensure the efficient and cost-effective sourcing of materials without being involved in tactical tasks like inventory management or placing orders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the review and analysis of 15-20 product categories, assessing data and determining strategic sourcing actions.
- Manage supplier relationships and collaborate with cross-functional teams, including internal customers and plant management, to identify raw material needs and alternatives.
- Evaluate market trends and sourcing strategies to identify areas for improvement and cost reduction.
- Work with teams to identify substitute raw materials and develop innovative sourcing solutions.
- Develop and execute sourcing plans for assigned categories, ensuring a critical analysis of supplier performance and delivery quality.
- Establish strong partnerships with suppliers to drive performance and resolve issues proactively.
- Focus on continuous improvement in sourcing strategies, cost reduction, and process optimization.
- Collaborate on the development and execution of sourcing strategies while ensuring alignment with overall business goals.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make strategic decisions.
- Critical thinker, able to assess situations and determine the best course of action.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with suppliers, internal stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work independently, managing multiple projects and priorities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Willingness to take initiative and drive projects from start to finish.
- A proactive and results-driven attitude, with a focus on learning and growth.
- At least 2-3 years of experience in procurement, supply chain, project management, or related fields.
- Ability to thrive in a project-oriented environment, with a focus on problem-solving and process improvement.
- Experience in managing supplier relationships and working with internal teams to drive solutions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field.
