We are thrilled to be partnering with one of Chicago’s most well-known museums to bring on an HR Business Partner to support both the museum and its affiliated school. This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on HR professional who thrives in a fast-moving, people-first environment. While the role will start as a temporary opportunity, the organization is open to a temp-to-perm path for the right candidate.
What You’ll Do:

Serve as a trusted HR partner to leaders and employees across the museum and school, providing day-to-day support and guidance.

Manage a wide range of employee relations issues including attendance, coaching managers, policy interpretation, and workplace discrepancies.

Lead generalist responsibilities including drafting job descriptions, facilitating performance management processes, and maintaining compliance with HR policies.

Support recruitment efforts for general roles while partnering with senior TA staff on executive and niche hiring.

Operate as a proactive problem solver who can step in with strong judgment, critical thinking, and professional finesse.

Contribute to central HR projects that shape the employee experience and strengthen organizational culture.
What We’re Looking For:

Experienced HR generalist or business partner with a track record of handling employee relations and recruitment.

Confident, independent operator who can manage HR tasks without heavy oversight.

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to consult, influence, and build trust at all levels.

Skilled in balancing detail-oriented HR work with big-picture employee experience goals.

Professional presence and ability to navigate sensitive situations with tact.
