We’re partnering with a growing retail organization to hire a Merchandise Specialist to support their category strategy, assortment planning, and product performance. This is a high-impact, highly collaborative role that will work closely with cross-functional teams including sourcing, procurement, and planning. The ideal candidate is analytical, business-savvy, and passionate about driving product and financial performance.
This is a direct-hire role with a requirement of 4 days onsite in the Milwaukee-area.
Merchandising Specialist Responsibilities:
- Support category strategy development and execution
- Build and optimize assortment and SKU/class plans
- Partner with vendors and internal teams to execute against seasonal or category-level goals
- Analyze performance metrics and identify opportunities to drive sales and margin
- Stay current on market trends and competitive activity
- Leverage retail math and data tools to inform planning decisions
Merchandising Specialist Requirements:
- 1–3 years of experience in merchandising, planning, or a related retail function
- Strong analytical and Excel/Google Sheets skills
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and communication skills
- Self-starter who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
- Open to candidates transitioning from other retail categories or those with strong foundational knowledge looking to grow in a new space
